I am originally from Mexico City, Mexico. I attended college under a full-ride scholarship to Universidad Anáhuac to study Applied Math from 2005 to 2008. After that, I went to study a PhD and a MSc degrees at Purdue University in Mathematics and Computational Finance, respectively, from 2009 to 2015. Further, I was a PIMS postdoctoral fellow at the University of Calgary from 2015 to 2017 and afterwards I became an Assistant Professor at URI. Fortunately, starting on the Fall of 2025 I became Associate Professor at URI.

My current research interests are in Stochastic Modeling, Stochastic Optimization and their applications. Particularly to Mathematical Finance, Mathematical Biology and Ecology. For more detailed information, you can check the list of my publications and projects.

At URI, I have taught a great number of courses, from the 100 level to graduate level courses. More information can be found at my teaching page.

Finally, my CV can be found here. Also, you can find my (academic) “social media” below.
